PREMIERE - September '95
Fort bloqué is the story of a disengaged young couple who undertake a journey aboard a stolen car in a bid for freedom. Jacky (Pierre Castagne) and Lily (Anne Roussel) take off without a license and with the police on their tail. Their destination is to find Fort Bloqué on the Brittany coast, the place where Jacky was most happy.
Their quest to "go-west" is marked by risky encounters punctuated by the clatter of speeding trains, the rumble of the ocean surf and the roar of oncoming traffic, all accompanied by the music of Bruce Springsteen. One day they reach Pointe du Raz. Now only the ocean separates them from America, the country of their favourite musician and hero. Will they reach for their dreams and escape their reality?
Fort bloqué, produced for French TV channel France 3, features Juliette Binoche in the small role of Nicole, sister of Anne Roussel's Lily.

I auditioned for the main role, but they gave me another, smaller role, because they liked me. I shot for one or two days and it helped me pay the bills that month. I also worked as a cashier at BHV. Needs must! I never saw the movie.”
