ON SCREEN

Alain (Guillaume Canet), a successful Parisian publisher struggling to adapt to the digital revolution, has major doubts about the new manuscript by Léonard (Vincent Macaigne), one of his long-time authors - another work of autofiction recycling his love affair with a minor celebrity.

Selena (Juliette Binoche), Alain’s wife, a famous stage actress, is of the opposite opinion. She is currently finding local fame in a TV cop show while conducting an affair with Léonard.

Doubles Vies marks Juliette Binoche's third film with Olivier Assayas as director following the critically acclaimed Sils Maria and l'Heure d'été. The critically acclaimed comedy had it's world premiere at the 2018 Venice Film Festival before achieving the rare feat of being screened at the three main North American festivals; Toronto, Telluride and New York.
