In Paris, a city of a thousand faces, everyone has a story

Paris is the story of Pierre (Romain Duris), a dancer, who is sick and thinks he may die. His condition makes him look at all the people he meets in and around the city in a new and different way. Imagining his death suddenly gives new meaning to his life.

His sister Elise (Juliette Binoche) and her three children move into his apartment to care for him. Living together they reconnect as Pierre coaxes Elise to begin enjoying her life again after being deserted by her husband.

Their paths cross with many people: local market sellers, a woman who runs a bakery, an architect, a homeless person, a university professor, a model, an illegal immigrant from Cameroon... They may not seem very special, but for every single one of them, their life is unique.

Cedric Klapish’s joyous ensemble drama was an immediate success at the French box-office and was nominated for Best Picture at the 2009 Cesar du Cinema awards. The film features an all-star cast alongside Juliette Binoche and Romain Duris, including Fabrice Luchini, Albert Dupontel, Francois Cluzet and Mélanie Laurent.
